To save me the effort of writing a good first entry, I will instead quote some lines from Marc Prensky’s keynote at the 2005 SETT show in Glasgow (you can listen to the whole thing here… Marc’s talk begins about an hour in, the lines I’ve quoted are from near the end – at about 1:45′45″)
MP: “You can talk about games in the class even if you are a teacher who doesnt play a single game… you can say…you just mention a name,say you heard, you came to Prensky, and you heard Civilization 3, and the kids are going to go ‘you heard of that!?’ and your credibility goes way up. Yeah.”
Yeah indeed.
